Hazardous Location vs. Industrial Grade Luminaires

Evaluating key performance criteria for lighting upgrades in industrial facilities is a challenging process. While the facilities focus remains on safety and operation, the selection of appropriate lighting systems can become a major distraction. High degree of ingress protection, superior multi-layer coating, dust shedding design and ability to maintain optimal operational temperature for all electronics despite the presence of contaminates in the air were key. Design details such as the curved shape of the aluminium case ensure that nothing can stick or accumulate on the surface to interfere with heat dissipation.
