The JR is a compact, versatile, hazardous location-rated LED luminaire designed for industrial applications. It features lightweight, low-profile aluminum housing for easy installation and a high-efficiency optical design for improved illumination.

Optimized Lighting Effect

Secondary optics provide advanced optical profiles to reduce the number of lights required. Compared to some competing models, quantity reductions of up to 50% are possible.

Improved Visibility

Impact-resistant glass or polycarbonate lenses with a clear or frosted finish protect the LEDs and secondary optics. The perimeter band surrounds all light-emitting surfaces, providing a full cut-off feature with 0% up-light. Visual acuity improves operator comfort and effectiveness.

Protected Against the Elements

A copper-free aluminum alloy housing functions as the heat sink and features IP66/IP67 protection. The encapsulated variant is rated for IP68 use.

Extended Luminaire Life

Optimized fin spacing promotes debris shedding and convective airflow. The housing design allows for the thermal separation of LED and power supply heat, lowering operating temperatures and extending the life of internal components.

Simplified Installation & Operation

Installation Options

Nine different mounting brackets permit the JR to be deployed in varying locations. This light fixture's small footprint and lightweight design maximize possible application areas.

Implementation Areas

Applications for the JR include lighting walkways, platforms, doorways, conveyor belts, and building perimeters. Surface-mounted models fit modular buildings and other low-clearance spaces. The use of solid-state components enables deployment on service equipment. Standard UL1598A marine ratings make the JR suitable for saltwater rich locations.

Light Fixture Connection & Maintenance

A built-in junction area with three 3/4” NPT entries allows through wiring and reduces the need for external junction boxes. Field serviceability was a primary deliverable of the JR design. Outside the standard 5-year warranty period, all critical components and sub-assemblies can be replaced in the field by a qualified electrician. This does not apply to the encapsulated IP68 model.

Solid-state technology provides an excellent opportunity to deliver light on target surfaces effectively. Combining LEDs with secondary optics shapes the light output to increase the amount of usable light. An external lens protects the optics inside the JR. Optics offer flexibility during lighting design and application, reducing installation and operation costs.

In specific applications, LED lights can be submerged for an extended period. This challenge can exist in industrial, infrastructure, and marine locations.​

Nemalux offers a version of the JR suitable for IP68 applications. An optically clear encapsulant creates a permanent seal, protecting against water ingress to a depth of up to 25 feet. The JR-EN model operates at full output in dry and submerged conditions and is rated for General Location use only.

JR Series -  Top Hat Retrofit Adapter ​Retrofit-JR-Series-Tophat-600e

The Nemalux retrofit adapter converts legacy Eaton Crouse Hinds light fixture hoods and upgrades them to an optimized Nemalux LED luminaire. Reusing the Eaton Crouse Hinds mounting hoods and installing Nemalux fixtures with the retrofit adapter reduces labour costs and time, significantly simplifying the installation process.
